Bartolomei Brothers Vineyard
Located in Mendocino County, the Bartolomei Brothers Vineyard is the source for the Carignane grapes we use to produce “Snowdrop”.  This site, just east of Ukiah near the City of 10,000 Buddhas was originally settled in 1910 by 3 brothers from Lucca, Italy.  Nestled on the western slopes of the Mayacamas Range, this red clay vineyard produces some of the best Carignane grapes in the world from its 80-year old head trained vines.

Shake Ridge Vineyard
A few miles east from Sutter Creek, in Amador County, Shake Ridge Ranch is the culmination of experience, thoughtful design and hard work.  Ann Kraemer planted vines at her property on Shake Ridge starting in 2003. The Ranch is on very steep undulating hills in Amador County.  This vineyard is the source for our single vineyard rosé, “Bonebrick”.

Shake Ridge features some 42 acres of wine grapes in numerous blocks, each of which has its own unique combination of slope, exposure, aspect and soil mix. Soils at the property consist of well-drained loams on a base that ranges from quartz and soapstone to shale and a bit of granite.

Ann farms the blocks at Shake Ridge with the devotion of a monk, and the hand of an artist; her work is meticulous. Few vineyards, and probably none as young, account for as many wines on the wine list of Napa Valley’s acclaimed restaurant the French Laundry — 11.
